Aim

To study series and parallel combinations of resistors and calculate the equivalent resistance using a virtual breadboard.

๐Ÿงฐ

Apparatus

  • Breadboard
  • Resistors (various values)
  • Battery / DC power supply
  • Ammeter and Voltmeter
  • Connecting wires
  • Multimeter
๐Ÿงช

Procedure

  1. Select resistors from the component tray.
  2. Add resistors to the series rail โ€” they are connected end-to-end.
  3. Add resistors to the parallel rail โ€” they are connected across the same two points.
  4. Read the equivalent resistance from the multimeter display.
  5. Observe how current distributes in series vs parallel.
  6. Try the challenge: create 15ฮฉ from three 10ฮฉ resistors.
